Softly Comes the
Rain
Sample Pages
SHOOTING STAR
This evening I saw you.
You were dancing across the night sky.
Your brilliance took my breath away.
I held your daughter's hand as we searched the sky for the brightest
star.
I told her stories about you -
The funny and the sad
We laughed as we continued searching.
And then -
THERE
A shooting star with the biggest tail ever seen.
Looking at each other we smiled
For -
You were with us dancing with the angels.
THE VAULT
Pain and Hurt mortared the heart shut ~
To stand frozen for eternity
Not wanting to feel.
The risk too high
Scars too deep
Time flowed
Seasons came and went
The heart cried in want ~
Longing-Searching
Trying to be free
Then you passed my way.
Your smiled radiated warmth
Your eyes danced
Slowly the mortar was chipped away.
Trust replaced Fear
A bond forged
Love prevailed.
